Oklahoma City Thunder Count on Durant

The Oklahoma City Thunder had a terrible record at 23-59 in 08′-09′ – that didn’t stop the fans from attending the games because the team finished 11th in attendance.

Most of the source of any excitement in Oklahoma City, despite the team’s struggles, has to do with Kevin Durant. Additionally, the Thunder are still the new team in town in Oklahoma City, so the idea of a major sports franchise there is till a gift to the city’s residents. It’s the first of its kind.

The Thunder are coming from the great basketball town of Seattle. The Seattle fan base wasn’t thrilled with the move to Oklahoma City and hope one day Seattle can receive a team again – with many teams struggling it might be a long wait in Seattle. Fans may cheer for the Thunder until they receive their own team again.

The Thunder has one of the most exciting players in the league in Kevin Durant, Durant has scoring champ written all over him and perhaps one day MVP.

Durant will have to do the majority of the work this season like last for the Thunder to even compete in most games. Durant is still very young so hopefully his career won’t be wasted on bad teams every single season.

Durant is the hope of this franchise, and the team’s success will definitely depend on his effectiveness. A very young basketball player, his best days are ahead of him, making things exciting for Thunder fans.

Then there are Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green, two very talented players in their own respects. They’ll be of help for sure.

Don’t be surprised to see Durant average over 25 points per game this season, and he may very well flirt with 30 points per game. He should easily be an All-Star this season and you never know – he might even win his team some games.
